Do’s and Don’ts: Mix, Match, and Beware of Moisture. April 18 2014
Dare to go off the beaten path when it comes to accessorizing your look. As Anna Wintour once said “Create your own style… let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.” Ready for this week's Do's and Don'ts?
Do: Experiment new combinations. At H&B we love classic looks, like a string of pearls with a little black dress, but we love unusual combos even more. So do not be afraid to mix and match. Wear that vintage statement jewellery you inherited from great-granny with jeans, or those chunky earrings at an elegant soiree.
Don’t: Wear gemstone jewellery at the gym. While a pair of sturdy studs might survive a workout unscathed (though we still recommend taking everything off), gemstone jewellery and diamond rings do not belong anywhere near a fitness center. Gemstones might look tough, but they can, and will, crack. Getting ready for that krav maga trial class? Take off your engagement ring. Joining a swimming class? Chlorine is dangerous for gemstones and precious metals, and so is the moisture from you post-workout sauna.
